At iNextResearcher, publishing is part of the learning journey. This page outlines the responsibilities of student authors
who submit work to iNextResearcher.
Authorship & Original Work
Authors are responsible for ensuring that:
- The submitted work is their own original writing and thinking
- All sources used are properly cited and referenced
- The submission has not been plagiarized, purchased, or written by another person
- Co-authored work reflects genuine contribution from all listed authors
Submitting work that is not your own undermines both learning and trust.
Responsible Use of AI & Tools
Students may use tools—including AI-based tools—for support, but not as substitutes for learning.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that:
- AI tools are used only to assist understanding, grammar, or structuring
- The core ideas, arguments, and analysis remain the author's own
- AI tools are not used to generate entire articles or datasets
- Any significant AI assistance is disclosed when requested
Undisclosed or excessive AI-generated content may lead to revision requests or rejection.
Accuracy & Honesty in Research
Authors are expected to:
- Present information, data, and findings honestly
- Avoid fabrication, falsification, or misrepresentation of facts
- Clearly distinguish between opinion, interpretation, and evidence
- Acknowledge limitations in their work when applicable
Research is not about perfection—it is about integrity.
Respecting the Editorial & Review Process
Student authors are expected to:
- Engage respectfully with editorial feedback and review comments
- Submit revisions within stipulated timelines where possible
- Respond thoughtfully, even when feedback is challenging
- Understand that publication is not automatic upon submission
Editorial decisions are part of the learning process and are made to improve academic quality.
Communication & Conduct
Authors are responsible for:
- Communicating courteously with editors and platform staff
- Using appropriate language in all correspondence
- Ensuring that a parent/guardian is informed where required
- Keeping contact details up to date
Professional conduct is part of becoming a researcher.t.
Financial Responsibility & Awareness
Authors are responsible for:
- Reviewing publishing charges before submission
- Understanding what fees cover and what they do not
- Seeking clarification before proceeding if unsure
- Avoiding submissions without consent where payment is involved
There are no hidden charges at any stage.
Commitment to Learning
Above all, authors are expected to:
- Approach publishing as a learning experience
- UBe open to feedback and revision
- Take responsibility for their academic voice and growth
iNext Researcher exists to support this journey—but responsibility begins with the author.
Knowing What Publication Means and Doesn’t
Authors should understand that:
- Publication does not guarantee admissions, rankings, or awards
- We does not offer endorsements or outcome guarantees
- Publishing is one component of a broader academic portfolio
- Learning and growth are valued more than credentials
Transparency helps set realistic and healthy expectations.
Corrections, Updates & Withdrawals
Authors may:
- Request one amendment if factual errors are found.
- Notify the platform team of issues discovered post-submission.
- Please check the APC guideline page for refund policy.
- Request withdrawal before publication, subject to review.
After publication, changes follow defined editorial procedures.
